Friends in their Shacks

In this section I will introduce you to good friends of mine pictured in their Shacks, they are I hasten to add in no particular order. So those included in this section do not think this is the order of our friendship, likewise if you are not included it doesn't mean I value your friendship any less!!
Dave Edwards "MØCNP"

Dave Edwards
MØCNP

Probably my Best Friend because we have so many common interests. He is also my nearest rival as North Norfolk's No.1 DX'er!

I am sure he will overtake me one day, if not already (don't tell him though...Hi...), but I will cling on as long as I can?? Dave like me is a keen contester, DX chaser and Award Hunter, we now both submit to the Radcom HF tables.

Dave lives with his lovely wife Claire in the seaside town of Cromer, his father George Edwards G6IPU also lives nearby. Aswell as his DX exploits he is keen on operating Digital modes, he is active on RTTY, SSTV, PSK31, APRS and receiving weather pictures from the NOAA Satellites.

He is also a founder and Committee member of the Bittern DX Group, he is our QSL Manager. Like me, he is a former NNARG member, his skill at repairing those vintage receivers and transmitters will be sorely missed. Also involved with the "Coast to Coast" Hospital Radio for Cromer and Kelling Hospitals and a member of the North Norfolk Railway.

Member of RAIBC, BARTG, Norfolk Raynet, plus many others...

In March 2002 and 2004, he visited his daughter who lives on the beautiful island of Bermuda, there he operated as VP9/MØCNP. I was lucky enough to contact him with his setup, further visits are planned to see his grandchildren.

Event organisor for GB2ØØCLB

His web site can be found at www.qsl.net/m0cnp

Vince While
G6IQL

My drinking buddy when he visits the family holiday home in Weybourne, not often enough for me...Hi!!!

Now the Morse Code requirement has been removed, he now longer needs the M3IQL callsign. I had previously given him the Morse assessment, following a little persuasion over a pint or 3!

Vince While "G6IQL"

Vince lives with his wife Clare (another one..) and their 2 young sons, Thomas and Gregory just outside Birmingham, where he is a schoolteacher.

He is great Six Metre DXer, with almost 150 DXCC countries worked on that band. A member of the UK Six Metre Group and AMSAT UK to pursue his interest of operating through satellites, he trying to get me into both of these modes also. Now QRV on PSK, RTTY and SSTV also.

He is enjoying his new full access to the HF bands, he has had a great deal of success with his new Icom IC-756PRO II, plus linear. He has already worked 250+ DXCC entities in just over a year, also another member of the Bittern DX Group and CDXC.
