Friends in their Shacks cont'd

Here is the continuation of the section where I will introduce you to good friends of mine pictured in their Shacks, they are I hasten to add in no particular order. So those included in this section do not think this is the order of our friendship, likewise if you are not included it doesn't mean I value your friendship any less!!

Glynn Finney
2EØTPP

Better known to everyone as "The Pied Piper" hence the callsign.

I first met Glynn through emails sent to me as Secretary of NNARG in 2000, he was interested in GB2MC being a SWL.

We have become real good friends and we chat most days via MSN audio, or maybe Echolink. We are both mad on Computers...

Glynn Finney "2EØTPP"

Glynn lives in Braunstone near the city of Leicester with his parents, George and Val. He suffers from Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis (ABPA) plus he's also totally allergic to NUTS (funny how he gets on with me then? ), but like me gets on with life!

A keen CW operator and a member of FISTS, he was the winner of Leicester Radio Society's "Cliff Craythorne Trophy" in 2003.

He has just ventured onto the HF bands, with an old Icom IC-735 and he's enjoying it immensely. Also a very keen Bittern DX'er, he has operated with us @ both GB2BML and GB2ØØCLB.

George Armes "M1EBQ"

George Armes
M1EBQ

I've known George for quite a few years even before he passed his RAE, thus gaining his Amateur licence in 1999.

He is the Brother-In-Law of another of my good amateur friends Dave Ramm G7OSK. He would listen to us talking on his VHF/UHF Scanner.

He was my last Morse assessment pupil and was also M3EBQ.

George lives with his wife Linda just along the coast from me in the small picturesque village of Cley next the Sea. Now retired, (he had own Heating Engineering business) he spends his time pursuing his wide ranging hobbies, like Gardening, Photography, Engineering, Computing and of course Amateur Radio.

He started building a working scale model Traction Engine, making all the mouldings etc. but he has abandoned it for now. It is about the same size as a Mini car, but now needs it's wheels casting and that is a too complicated a task for home workshop and very expensive!!

George has built his own computer and now has began tackling web design, so do take a look at his web site.
